“ABHYUDAYA” – A Mouth Piece Of Shikshayatan Cultural Center
1988 – 2018
South Asians have been working very hard to acquire wealth and happiness in the U.S. for decades. Away from our motherland, we are now part of a western society.
But can we really forget the centuries old culture and tradition that has been passed on to us from our fore-fathers? This culture has made us aware of our own identity. It has instilled certain values in us that have been part of our blood stream and have been flowing uninterruptedly from one generation to the next. Because of these high spiritual and moral values, our culture has been a center of attraction for numerous faith seekers from the west.
We feel that it is our responsibility to keep our young generation fully aware of these values and traditions in order to make them great human beings.
“Abhyudaya” is an effort to fulfill this responsibility. “Abhyudaya” is a valuable instrument of our community. It gives us a platform to express ourselves and it links us to one another. We will also try to keep you abreast of the social developments taking place in India.
“Abhyudaya” is being published by an institution (Shikshayatan) that is already engaged in educating the members of the community in the areas of art, culture and Indian languages. We will also try to spread this knowledge to non-South Asians in order to offer them a fresh perspective of our culture and heritage.
We publish “Abhyudaya” because we have been continuously encouraged and inspired by you, our readers. We hope to get your continued support and valuable suggestions and will try our best to create better editions of “Abhyudaya” with each coming year.
